We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Logistics, Warehousing and Transport to provide strategic leadership and full operational control of our supply chain, logistics, and transport functions. The role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement and storage of goods while supporting the organisation’s long-term growth and operational excellence.
This is a senior director-level position with responsibility for strategy, people leadership, financial performance, and regulatory compliance across logistics and distribution operations.
• Develop and deliver the logistics, warehousing, transport, and supply chain strategy
aligned with the organisation’s business objectives.
• Provide expert advice to senior leadership on supply chain performance, risks, and
improvement opportunities.
• Lead long-term planning for capacity, infrastructure, systems, and operational
resilience.
• Oversee end-to-end logistics operations, including inventory management, warehousing,
distribution, and transport activities.
• Ensure the timely, accurate, and cost-efficient movement of goods from suppliers to
customers.
• Manage multi-site operations and oversee relationships with third-party logistics
(3PL) providers.
• Prepare, manage, and control logistics and transport budgets, ensuring delivery of
financial targets.
• Monitor costs, margins, and operational performance, implementing corrective actions
where required.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, suppliers, and service providers.
• Lead, mentor, and develop senior logistics, warehouse, and transport management
teams.
• Set objectives, monitor performance, and ensure effective workforce planning and
succession.
• Promote a culture of high performance, safety, accountability, and continuous
improvement.
• Ensure full compliance with transport legislation, health and safety requirements,
environmental standards, and internal policies.
• Identify and manage operational risks, including business continuity and supply chain
disruption planning.
• Maintain accurate reporting and governance across all logistics functions.
• Drive process improvement initiatives, including operational optimisation, automation,
and technology adoption.
• Analyse KPIs and performance data to improve service levels, efficiency, and customer
satisfaction.
• Lead and manage change initiatives across logistics and supply chain operations.
• Work closely with procurement, manufacturing, sales, finance, and customer service
teams to align supply chain activities with demand and growth plans.
• Represent the organisation in discussions with key partners, suppliers, and external
stakeholders.

Salary: £53,600 – £81,400 per annum (£27.49 – £41.74 per
hour)
